Science fiction fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting the big-screen adaptation of Andy Weir’s masterpiece, “Project Hail Mary”. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the film takes us on an incredible, mind-bending journey where protagonist Ryland Grace (played by Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light-years from home, tasked with saving a dying sun and the entirety of humanity.
But beyond the vast, awe-inspiring visuals of deep space, the film carries a massive emotional weight. One of the most powerful scenes occurs just before the launch of this near-suicidal mission. Mission commander Eva Stratt (played by Sandra Hüller) sings a karaoke version of Harry Styles’ iconic track, “Sign of the Times”, at a farewell party.

Hearing those lyrics in the context of humanity’s last hope flying off into the great unknown gives the song an entirely new, hauntingly beautiful meaning. It became the emotional core of the story.

My goal was to take the melancholic atmosphere of the original song and elevate it into a cinematic, electronic anthem. In this remix, you will hear ambient synths that mimic the isolation of a spacecraft drifting through the void, paired with a driving rhythm that reflects the intense urgency of the Hail Mary mission.
